In case you’re not familiar, the “Bridgerton” show by Shonda Rhimes is based on a series of books by author Julia Quinn. In a similar manner, each book in the series also has a different Bridgerton sibling in focus. Those who have read the books say that this season’s story, which is based on “The Viscount Who Loved Me”, is the best of all the books.

“Obviously, I completely agree,” he says with a laugh, continuing to reveal that he did read “The Viscount Who Loved Me” while preparing for the role.

“With Anthony, he’s experienced a lot. I think that’s probably a reason why I know I’m drawn to him,” Bailey continues. In this season, we did have a more in-depth look into the Bridgerton family history and how their father’s untimely death affected Anthony the most.

Bailey also shares that he and Simone Ashley, who plays Kate Sharma, both fight to prove that they are the biggest fans of Kate and Anthony.

When we asked Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington) about her opinion, she was quick to answer.

“I’m totally biased because I love Colin and Penelope’s book,” she says, “Because I think it’s got not only the romance, but the intrigue, too.”

Still, she can see why people loved Anthony and Kate’s book.

“I think it’s seeing two people who are totally on an even level but just butting heads—it’s that Pride and Prejudice thing,” she continues. “I can totally see why people love it. But I’m always gonna have a soft spot for Colin and Penelope.”

With differing opinions from the cast members themselves, it looks like it’s just up to our own personal preferences to decide. Watch the second season of “Bridgerton” on Netflix!
