Boracay is undeniably one of the best destinations to indulge in great seafood dishes. It’s not a secret that many restaurants are flocking around the whole island, but only a few will truly give you an amazing gastronomic experience. One of these is Indigo Restaurant, a fine dining restaurant located in Discovery Shores Boracay. The restaurant offers a highly seasonal menu of creative coastal cuisine. It is also worth noting that the view of the beautiful Boracay Station 1 beach makes your dining experience one-of-a-kind.
Indigo Restaurant was featured twice in the Philippine Tatler’s Best Restaurants List and shortlisted for the MIELE Guide to Asia’s Best Restaurants in 2010/2011.
At daytime, the restaurant opens for lunch where fresh seafood is featured on the menu while for dinner, the menu expands to more dishes other than seafood. During our visit, we tried their best-selling Grilled Seafood Platter.
The Grilled Platter consists of chicken kebab, squid, and grilled tuna belly and it is good for two people to share. The best part? These seafood are freshly-caught and cooked on-the-spot. The platter also comes with a salad showered with balsamic dressing and their Asian Rice Casserole.
You can expect that aside from the premium quality of ingredients they use, the chef and servers are very friendly and attentive to your needs. The chef presented the whole platter before us as he arranged each seafood while we amusingly watched.
To ensure that the dishes are thoroughly cooked, they also put it in the oven for a few minutes.
I must say that the superstar is the grilled tuna belly. The meat of the fish is perfectly done without losing its rich flavors along with their own soy sauce dip. The chicken kebab also nailed it that you’ll want more cups of rice!
The greens of the platter do great as well. It gives off a refreshing and tangy sensation to balance the savory goodness of the seafood.
To cap off the satisfying Grilled Seafood Platter, we had one of their best-selling desserts, a scoop of Banana Walnut Fudge which has the right amount of sweetness and truly a lovely ending to this meal.
