“Hunger Games” Prequel “Sunrise on the Reaping” Is Officially Out

Who’s excited to get their hands on the physical copy of the highly anticipated Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping?

On March 18, Scholastic announced that the long wait was finally over for worldwide fans and followers who have been eagerly following and supporting the beloved book series.

“THE WAIT IS OVER! Sunrise on the Reaping, the new novel in the #1 worldwide bestselling Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, is on sale today,” it wrote.

The second prequel follows the life of Haymitch Abernathy as he competes in the 50th Hunger Games, 24 years before he becomes a mentor for Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark and 40 years after the events from The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Previously, it was revealed that the fifth Hunger Games book would also get a movie adaptation. The film is set to be released in 2026.

The Hunger Games is a best-selling series of dystopian novels written by Suzanne Collins. The first three books were The Hunger Games (2008), Catching Fire (2009), and Mockingjay (2010), while the prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was written and published in 2020.
