Step one: Marvel at the big life goal you are about to accomplish

Step two: Find the “rounder” or more circular side of the balut egg and crack that open (the other side is a bit more pointy like an oblong). When cracked, you’ll find a very tasty and warm soup for you to drink. Drink it.

Step three: Add some salt or vinegar to your balut and do the damn thing! It’s a duck fetus. You eat it. (hair, eyes, beak, embryonic fluid…yup).

Best to eat in one fowl swoop…. get it… fowl… Anyway, one bite is best if you can.
