The BALUT is the ultimate street food that you need to have on your bucket list and below is our token white guy Elijah Murray who will walk you through your first ever Balut experience.
Step one: Marvel at the big life goal you are about to accomplish
Step two: Find the “rounder” or more circular side of the balut egg and crack that open (the other side is a bit more pointy like an oblong). When cracked, you’ll find a very tasty and warm soup for you to drink. Drink it.
Step three: Add some salt or vinegar to your balut and do the damn thing! It’s a duck fetus. You eat it. (hair, eyes, beak, embryonic fluid…yup).
Best to eat in one fowl swoop…. get it… fowl… Anyway, one bite is best if you can.
Step four: Marvel again at what you just did. (Again the hair, eyes, beak, embryonic fluid…etc)
