A few days ago, a delighted netizen posted on a pet lovers group about meeting two homeless incredible beings: Lolo Pelagio “Phil” Manuel and his Wonderdog, a puppy named Dogman. The two were homeless and living on the footbridge in front of SM and Robinsons malls in Fairview. Based on the post, the two looked like a happy family, appreciative of any blessing that comes their way amidst their harsh circumstance.
One time, someone tried to steal Dogman, Lolo Phil shared to the netizen. Fortunately, a sidewalk vendor witnessed it and was able to return Dogman to him. Lolo Phil said he was almost in tears at the time from worry. Another time, a good Samaritan gave him grilled chicken from a popular restaurant, but instead of eating it for himself, he gave it to his puppy. To see his puppy eating well makes Lolo Phil very happy, said the netizen.
The netizen doesn’t know why Lolo Phil is now alone in the world–but she shared that she is glad that at least he has his Dogman by his side.
He may have lost everything… But now he has everything in this world in the form of a dog…

Dogman falls ill.
Just a few days after that post, however, other netizens started posting their alarm over the health of Dogman, who suddenly started vomiting and became weak. A worried Lolo Phil put up a donation box on his corner at the footbridge to raise funds for his puppy’s medical treatment.
One netizen posted a call for more concrete help for Lolo Phil and Dogman. The puppy had to be brought to the vet immediately!
A good Samaritan rushed Dogman to Vetmoto Animal Clinic, where the once cheerful puppy was diagnosed with Parvo, a highly contagious viral illness. The good doctor at the vet clinic reportedly gave a huge discount on the services and waived her professional fee.
At the moment, Dogman is in critical condition. He was moved to the Animal Clinic along Maligaya Road near Sampaguita St. in Quezon City.
Lolo Phil and Dogman need help with the vet expenses. They also need your prayers and healing vibes to give Dogman the strength to survive. The netizen who helped bring Dogman to the vet shared through a comment, “The old man was crying last night as we were leaving the clinic. He told me how he loved his puppy and that he will do anything to make him feel better (translated from Tagalog).”
Wala na siyang kasama sa buhay kundi ang puppy niya… He has no else except his puppy.

Update as of 1 February 2018 – Dogman seems to have recovered from his ordeal, as shared by one of his supporters. But both he and Lolo Phil are back on the footbridge in Fairview. We wish that these two will find a better home soon and we hope that you will continue to help.
