Boracay Island is back on top once again as one of the must-visit tourist destinations in the country. It may best be known for its white sand beaches and exciting nightlife, but the island is also becoming famous for its exquisite homegrown restaurants. Personally, I find myself wanting to go to Boracay not just for the beach but also for the food trip!
There’s a new addition to the long strip of beachfront restaurants in Boracay, and it’s definitely one to add to your itinerary.
Hola Chula by Alegria is the newest taqueria and bar in Boracay having only opened its doors in late 2022. It’s located on the sandy shores of Station 2 and it surely won’t be hard to find because of its vibrant and colorful interiors.
We loved the tropical neon aesthetic of their space. It’s drop-dead gorgeous and will make you feel like you’re stepping into a movie set. There are so many bright neon lights, comfy and cozy seating options, and picture-perfect corners for the ‘Gram.
Hola Chula also has an al fresco rooftop dining area that will let you enjoy the world-famous Boracay sunset while sipping on your choice of cocktail.

While their beautiful space is enough to pull you in, Hola Chula’s gastronomic food menu just might be your newest reason to come back to Boracay again and again.
As one of Boracay’s must-visit taquerias, you definitely can’t go wrong with their tacos. The Baja Taco was highly recommended, and since we were already by the beach, we had to try it. It features Baja-style fried fish cooked to crispy perfection.
I personally loved how crispy it was on the outside and how juicy it was on the inside. Plus, the well-seasoned fish is made even better with the flavorful pineapple salsa. It’s definitely an instant favorite!
Of course, you can also enjoy the classic Beef Guisada taco with flavorful slow-cooked beef, ensalada, crispy fried onions, and cilantro. It’s an explosion of flavors with every bite.

Hola Chula’s starters also deserve a spotlight of their own. They offer a variety of savory seafood appetizers such as Scallop Sisig, Woodfired Aklan Oysters, and Calamares.
But if you’re looking for options other than seafood, you should try their super flavorful and extra crispy Cajun Chicken Strips.
If you’re looking for a hearty meal that will guarantee you a full stomach, try the Asaderia options which are cooked over an Argentine Wood Fire Parilla Grill. Their Beef Rib is incredibly tender and flavorful, and its massive serving size will surely make you satisfied.
They also have grilled tiger prawns, pulpo, and steak to enjoy!
Hola Chula is also known for its Cevicheria. While you’re here, try the Shrimp & Fried Squid Ceviche for a beautiful medley of flavors.
Of course, you can’t miss out on the signature cocktails served at Hola Chula. We got to try the sweet Cunejo y Blanco which features the iconic White Rabbit candy and it was definitely a blast from the past.
Another must-try cocktail is the Promitto which is a refreshing option that’s perfect for the summer heat.
You can also drink your hearts out during Hola Chula’s Happy Hour when you can enjoy 1 for 1 signature cocktails.
Hola Chula is one of the newest additions to the island that’s sure to be an instant favorite, especially with their amazing vibes, mouthwatering food, and great drinks. It’s a tourist destination in itself!
Make sure to add Hola Chula to your upcoming Boracay itinerary for an unforgettable foodie experience.
