Planning Your Next Vacation? This Travel Booking App Is Opening Up More Flight Routes for Filipinos

AirAsia MOVE (MOVE), Asia’s best travel booking app, has been accredited by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the Philippines. This milestone strengthens the company’s airline partnerships, offers Filipino and international travelers broader choices when flying to and from the country, and supports greater global connectivity.

The accreditation reflects MOVE’s evolution into an end-to-end platform connecting travelers to an expanding network of airlines, products, and services—all through a single app. Today, MOVE provides access to over 700 airlines serving 3,000 global destinations, including direct partnerships with international carriers like Etihad Airways, ANA, and VietJet. Beyond flights, the platform offers more than one million hotels, live events, attractions, and other travel essentials.

For Philippine tourism, the growing footprint of online travel agencies like MOVE creates valuable opportunities for airlines and tourism partners to reach travelers through technology, expanded distribution, and a seamless booking experience.

“Our IATA accreditation is already opening new doors for MOVE. Within the first few weeks, around 30 international airlines serving routes to and from the Philippines have granted us ticketing authority,” said Malou Japson, country head for MOVE Philippines.

“Travel is an ecosystem, and no single player can thrive in isolation. Our growing engagement with both local and global tourism and aviation organizations strengthens our ability to collaborate, build meaningful partnerships, and contribute to conversations shaping the future of travel in the Philippines,” Japson explained.

“We see a strong opportunity for MOVE to take a more active role in connecting Filipinos to the world while positioning the Philippines as an accessible, compelling destination for international travelers. Ultimately, our goal is not simply to facilitate travel, but to build stronger connections across the entire ecosystem,” she added.

This achievement also builds on MOVE’s expanding industry presence. Earlier this year, MOVE joined the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), reinforcing its ties with the local trade community. The platform also collaborates with the Department of Tourism on the “Discover More to Love” campaign to boost domestic travel.
