“How I Met Your Father” (HIMYF) has been canceled by Hulu after two seasons, as confirmed by Variety. For those who haven’t had a chance to see the series, here’s what you missed.

HIMYF premiered in January 2022, and the second part of its second season only became available on Disney+ PH on July 26. Unfortunately, the cancellation of the show brings the “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff to a close, concluding with a total of 30 episodes and making its second season its final installment.
What Is the Story of “How I Met Your Father”
Similar to the original show, the spinoff follows the story of how Sophie, the protagonist, met her child’s father. However, its abrupt conclusion prevented the spinoff from making the big reveal.

The synopsis of HIMYF goes: “In the near future, Sophie is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the present where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”
“How I Met Your Father” Cast Members
Sophie is played by Kim Cattrall, who narrates the story of her younger self played by Hilary Duff. Also among the cast members are Christopher Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma; along with recurring actors Daniel Augustin and Ashley Reyes.

Aside from the Sex and The City and Lizzie McGuire nostalgia, it also guest stars Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester and Drake & Josh‘s Josh Peck. We were also able to spot “All About That Bass” singer Meghan Trainor, “The Middle” star Eden Sher, another “Sex and the City” actor John Corbett, Marvel star Clark Gregg, and NSYNC members Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, to name a few.

Despite its short run, HIMYF garnered five nominations and awards at the Emmys. In 2023, it was nominated for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program (Half-Hour) for its episodes “The Reset Button” and “Ride Or Die;” Outstanding Cinematography For A Series (Half-Hour) for its episode “Daddy,” and Outstanding Picture Editing For A Multi-Camera Comedy Series, also for the episode “Daddy.”

Previously, it won the Outstanding Cinematography For A Multi-Camera Series (for its pilot episode) and Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series (for its “Timing Is Everything” episode) awards in 2022.
