Herlene Budol took to her X account (formerly Twitter) to speak up on her now-viral moment wherein she was captured on video tripping and falling onstage at the GMA Gala 2024 last Saturday, July 21.
Herlene, who was doing a catwalk to show off her Leo Almodal dress titled “Birth of Venus,” seemed to have tripped on something and proceeded to fall face flat on the ground.
Since the video that caught the accident spread online, Herlene retweeted it and shared an inspiring message about learning to get back up on one’s feet no matter what.
“Sa buhay kapag na dapa ka, Bumangon ka. Hangga’t may buhay, may pag asa. Walang susuko para sa Pamilya [In life, when you fall down, get back up again. As long as you’re alive, there is always hope. Never give up for the sake of your family],” she said.
In another tweet, she hit back at bashers claiming that her fall was done on purpose, saying that she never wanted to make a fool of herself in front of a crowd.
“Pag dapa indi pinag tatawanan. Accident always happened! Sa palagay nyo ba gusto ko ma dapa? lahat ng tao nadadapa, naaksidente, Ang importante safe at d nasugatan. [When someone trips, you shouldn’t laugh at them. Accidents always happen! Do you think I wanted to fall? Every person trips, gets into accidents. What’s important is that I’m safe and didn’t get injured.]”

A separate video of Barbie Forteza, who was also modeling her gown onstage at the Gala, also went viral as she was seen rushing over to help Herlene.
