Here’s Why Kisses Delavin Didn’t Want to Win ‘Pinoy Big Brother’

Miss Universe Philippines candidate Kisses Delavin just sat down with Boy Abunda on his Youtube Talk Show to talk about herself, her family, her career, and her journey to hopefully win the coveted crown and represent the Philippines in the global beauty pageant.

In Part 2 of the three-part interview, Kisses discussed her beginnings in showbiz when she joined the “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7” competition back in 2016. As a shock to all, the young actress admitted that she actually didn’t want to win the reality show when she had joined it.

“I wanted really not to win PBB because I always thought that it would defeat the purpose. Because it’s a talent show and the winner has to have car or house and lot, and I didn’t really need that. I just want to go into showbiz,” she confessed.

She said that the reason behind her having this mindset was that she was able to survive many challenges involving her health growing up which made her feel like it was a sign that she had “a mission” set in stone for her. “So I look at my skill set and I think this is the right job for me,” she told Tito Boy. “If this is what’s right for me, I will really do my best and enjoy showbiz also.”

Kisses eventually won second to Big Winner Maymay Entrata.

Now that she has been in the industry for five years, Kisses shared that a lot has changed in her life for the better and all her failures and successes have made her the strong woman she is now.

“I was so blessed but I was also just 17. I know that a lot of younger people also go into showbiz but it was a different kind of level of fame a 17-year-old girl,” she said.

“You’re your own advocate. You’re your own protector. You’re your own knight. So you have to fight for yourself.”
