Great news for one of the country’s most well-made films in recent times!!
HENERAL LUNA was just selected to be the Philippines’ official entry to the 2016 Academy Awards in the best Foreign Language Film Category!
The exciting announcement was just made on HENERAL LUNA’s official Facebook page!
HENERAL LUNA was written and directed by Jerrold Tarog, and premiered in theaters on September 9. John Arcilla plays the mercurial but brilliant general Antonio Luna, who led the country in its military warfare under the government of President Emilio Aguinaldo.
If you ask us, this was a well-deserved selection!
An independent film, HENERAL LUNA reportedly cost P80 million to produce, and should it have a successful run, sequels featuring Gen. Gregorio del Pilar and Manuel Quezon will be in the works, a la Marvel!
