Geekology 2.0
My fellow geeks, lend me your ears!
Our fellow geek brother, Jay Tablante, is releasing his new book entitled Geekology 2.0: Techniques in Cosplay Photography.
Chelsea Robato as Motoko Kusanagi of Ghost in the Shell
Geekology 2.0, in the words of Mr. Tablante, “continues the pursuit of the geek dream of bringing out our favorite comic book and anime characters to life into the photographic medium”. Geekology 2.0 will be Jay’s 2nd foray into the genre of cosplay photography and has a dual inversed cover featuring cosplay idol Alodia Gosiengiao and primetime queen Marian Rivera.
It features some of Jay’s awesome shots depicting various characters from our favorite comic books and anime series. Some examples of shots that you’ll see in this book ranges from Jean Grey, Mr. Freeze, Sailor Moon and many more! Geekology 2.0 will go beyond the character shots and will give the reader some insight on Jay and the team’s process on creating the images, from brainstorming process to the post-production stage.
Geekology 2.0 will be making its waves to bookstores everywhere this month. The book will also have a grand release and book signing on March 21, 2015 at the Digital Photographer Philippines 9th Anniversary event in Bonifacio Global City. There will be a technical demo by Phottix Philippines on 3pm while the book signing starts at 4:30pm. Geekology 2.0: Techniques in Cosplay Photography, is published by Anvil Publishing, Inc. Mr. Tablante has always pledged to donate proceeds of his cosplay work to charity. For Geekology 2.0, all proceeds will go to Cribs Foundation, a home for abandoned babies and abused women.
Plugs aside, Mr. Jay, you did it again. From one geek to another, congrats on the new book! 😀
