According to the 2017 World Happiness Report released on March 20, International Day of Happiness, Filipinos are happier this year than in 2016.

On the list, the Philippines was at rank 72 on the survey measuring the state of global happiness. This showed a big leap from 2016’s ranking at the 82.

On the list, Norway is the happiest country in the world. Right next to it are Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, and Finland.

Last on the list of 155 countries is Central African Republic.

The World Happiness Report is published through the assistance of the United Nations, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and now supported by a generous three-year grant from the Ernesto Illy Foundation.

Happiness is considered “to be the proper measure of social progress and the goal of public policy.”
