All the food was washed down with a cold pitcher of Tubig ni Maria Clara, a concoction of fresh cucumber juice, ginger and citrus water. I’m going to go ahead and say that it’s weird… weird, but incredibly refreshing.

Damaso does desserts with flair.

Sisa’s Dementia. Holy Mother of Chocolate. I forgot my name. This charmer, I swear, made me close my eyes in slow motion. It MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH at first bite. Dementia is a truffle cake with white chocolate almond pastille, dark chocolate mousse and ganache. Fancy words fit to describe what this cake is all about. I’m a chocolate lover, and it was so easy to spin into delirium with this treat.

Brazo ni Dona Vicki is Damaso’s take on Spanish-influenced brazo de mercedes. The meringue is on the firm side, and the filling is creamy and of thick consistency – just the way I like it. It’s not too sweet to induce diabetes and make your throat hurt. I just kept on scooping and scooping teaspoons from the plate… I bet my dinner buddies loved it, too. My tastebuds were pleased!

The Diablo is probably one of the more adventurous desserts I’ve tasted so far in my life. For those who want to try something new, this is definitely for you. The hot bittersweet chocolate soufflé is served with a twist — the pudding is spiced with siling labuyo. It’s crazy how it kind of tricks you on the first bite. Your brain tells you it’s hot and you keep taking more bites. After a while, you go scrambling for water because it’s not the temperature… it’s the heat coming from the siling labuyo. Magic.

Bibingka Waffle. Bibingka and waffle fused together. ‘Nough said. Go try it out and pour Damaso’s cocojam all over it while you’re at it.

Pepay the Dancer’s Halo Halo is here to remind us of sun, summer flings and whatnots. The glass it comes in is huge and is meant for sharing…with crushie. Teehee.

What I liked about this restaurant is that it knows its identity. The concept is well thought of. It’s bold and innovative and does things with a twist. A restaurant different from any other. It is worth checking out!
