Elon Musk announced today, July 24, that Twitter’s blue bird logo had been replaced with X as part of the rebranding of the social media platform.ย

He even posted a photo of himself doing an X sign. On July 23, he teased a flickering X logo video clip. Twitter Chief Executive Officer Linda Yaccarino also confirmed the news through the app.
“Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square,” she wrote.

She also said that X is powered by an AI, which is centered on audio, video, messaging, payments, and banking that creates a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.

“For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, to innovate faster, and to fulfill our great potential. X will do that and more. Weโve already started to see X take shape over the past 8 months through our rapid feature launches, but weโre just getting started,” Yaccarino added.

Although Musk mentioned it is an “interim,” many users expressed their opinions on the app’s rebranding, which trended the hashtag #GoodbyeTwitter.
In October 2022, Musk acquired Twitter. He appointed former NBC Universal executive Linda Yaccarino as the app’s new CEO in June 2023.
