Ed Sheeran’s Crew Called Filipinos ‘Monkeys’

Ed Sheeran's Crew Called Filipinos 'Monkeys'

It’s a great time to be in the Philippines because of the many foreign artists who are coming to perform. The latest singer to come here is Ed Sheeran, who will be having his concert tonight at the Mall of Asia Arena.

But what would have been a smooth concert landed the crew in trouble, when one member of Ed’s entourage was accused of calling Filipinos ‘monkeys.’

The incident happened when they were in the airport, as soon as they arrived.

To make sure the singer’s airport experience was pleasant, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) coordinated with Ed and his nine crew during immigration and customs. Being a famous singer, an unidentified crew member didn’t allow passengers, airline personnel, and journalists to take photos of Ed. The companion reportedly shouted, calling some of the Filipinos present ‘monkeys.’

Immigration officers approached the companion and reprimanded him for his discriminating remarks, telling him that he can be barred from entering the country.

The companion apologized for what he said, after saying it was just an expression that meant no harm.
