Filipino singer-songwriter, Ebe Dancel, has just released a new song that will tug at your heartstrings.
“Tanging Kailangan,” which dropped on music streaming sites on Tuesday, August 24, the song talks about being in love and having sincere devotion to the person you care deeply about. The piece is accompanied by a strings section with bass and drums which all add to the passion expressed by Ebe’s powerful vocals.
In an interview with Manila Bulletin, Ebe shared that he had written this song before Christmas last year having been inspired by all the beautiful vows he’s heard in the many wedding ceremonies he’s attended and performed in.
“I just write as sincerely as possible, always careful with the words that I use together. I guess the fans appreciate that,” he said.
“Putting in words as close as possible the idea you have in your head is what makes good lyrics. Sometimes it’s a visual, sometimes it’s a story, but the idea has to be put into words and music the way I picture it in my head. It’s not just about rhyming — it’s coming up with a compelling story that invites a listener in,” he added. “If it is sincerely done, then the lyrics will get into the hearts of people. If you listen really closely to ‘Tanging Kailangan,’ you might get a visual in your head about what the song is really about.”
