PSA: You can now earn rewards points using your beep card

Commuters know that the beep card is essential for getting around. This stored-value card can be used when taking public transportation, such as the LRT1, LRT2, and MRT3 as well as in public utility vehicles (PUVs). These include P2P buses, EDSA buses, modern jeepneys, and the like.

For avid users of this stored value card, we’ve got good news. Your beep card now comes with rewards points!

According to AF Payments Inc., the company that operates stored value card beep, users can now earn rewards points by using the card in participating PUVs and retail stores from August 22 to November 22, 2020. To start, users need to first download the beep mobile app and register their cards. Up to 5 beep cards are allowed for this.

And just like that, your card is eligible for collecting points. You can then use it in participating buses, PUVs, and retail stores. For every PHP 1 spent, you get PHP 1 point. But take note that trains and reloading transactions are not included.

In order to redeem PHP 10 of beep load, you’ll need a minimum of 1,000 points. You can then redeem through the app and claim it through beep e-load stations.

According to AF Payments Inc. chief commercial officer Sharon Fong, the project aims to promote contactless payment in order to lower the risk of spreading COVID-19. For more details on how to start earning rewards points, you can head on over to the beep website.
