Years and years before, Relik has established itself as a party place, a venue to tugs tugs and for wild nights. (Read here: RELIK Tapas Bar and Lounge: Spanish-Mediterranean Comfort Food Served with Love). The time Relik opened, it was the era of bar scene, with Relik, having amassed itself with a lot of loyal customers, mostly party goers.
But alas, the party scene is starting to dwindle, people just wanted to chill Saturday nights, meet up with friends and talk about good times over great food, fine wine and cocktails.
Because of this, Relik has now transformed itself to a relaxed and cozy environment.
They have bands playing almost every night. I get to see one of the bands play for their Hugot Night. I cry. Tagos po sa puso. Music makes eating all the better. 🙂
Red bricks make up the walls of the restaurant. And take note of this, the location is hidden. A lot of customers like that bit a lot. Kind of make you feel like you have a secret. All the time I was at Relik, my thoughts are, “Omigash, the place is so cool, it’s hidden. I can’t wait to tell my friends. But oh wait, NOOOOO. This is my fort, I don’t want anyone to know my special place.” Hehehehe.
Place that are harder to spot are usually the ones that are gems and are worth it. It pains me to say this, as I fell in love with the place, but let me tell you the secret: The entrance is on second floor of the parking lot of Commercenter Building in Taguig.
First and foremost, the steak is DELICIOUS. I know I have to work my way up, start with their bar chows and appetizers.. but NO. The steak is heaven sent that I just have go with this first.
It seared perfectly fine, seasoned with just right amount of salt and pepper. <3
Tuesday is now my favorite day, cause I get to have this on a buy 1 take 1 promo, all by myself…. umm, it’s okay to share though. Bring a friend or two.
Part of the change is adding and modifying menu items, and these two are newbies. Order the Beef Salpicao, saucy tender beef cubes with garlic, and Gambas, shrimp sauteed in garlic and butter, to kick off your night. Yumm!
One of the signature dishes of Relik is its Chorizig, chorizo and sisig fused into one. I specially liked munching on this one. It made me thirsty and itching for beer. And we all know what happens if we combine sisig, beer and good friends together. It’s one hella night of catch ups and good conversations.
Their Roast Beef is also new on the menu. The beef is sliced into thin cuts and its oh so tender… and the mashed potato, panalo! It was a dish meant for two but I’m pretty sure I could finish the mashed potato all by myself.
A meal would not be complete with drinks. They have red and white Sangrias for your liking.
It’s the all new Relik Restaurant that we all loved and craved.. but now with a different take on things!
