Amidst the concrete jungles of the Bonifacio Global City district is RELIK Tapas Bar and Lounge, the newest bar and restaurant that has been gathering raves from all corners of the metro. RELIK offers a laid-back atmosphere that allows friends to relax and mingle over drinks while sampling exquisite Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine prepared by Chef Benjo Tuason, who has undergone his masters in culinary arts training in Melbourne, Australia.
Although RELIK is mainly known as a tapas bar and as a fun nightlife hotspot, it also offers a selection of sumptuous and hearty lunch and dinner meals, all laden with that distinct Spanish flavor that is indeed a feast for the eyes and tummy! We were invited to RELIK’s special VIP night to zero in on their offerings.
Staying true to their warm and cozy vibe, RELIK’s interiors echo that of a homely atmosphere while maintaining a hip and modern feel; with brick walls, vintage lamps, vinyl records hanging on the walls, and dark wood furniture all swathed in soft lights and bold accents such as leather and zebra prints. All these aspects blend so well to complement the Spanish comfort food RELIK serves!

On with the tapas! For starters we had the Jamon Serrano Tasting Board, which consisted of Boneless “Diego Martin”, Chorizo Pamplona, “Casedemant”, Stuffed “Serpis”, Spanish olives, and deep fried Manchego cheese – a very flavorful mix of sweet and spicy with a cheesy kick! We also had delicious Quesadillas, Mussels sautéed in garlic cream with chorizo, and Chorizig – RELIK’s take on the Filipino’s favorite sisig. I must say that the highlight of our tapas selection was RELIK’s Baked Australian Brie served with tomato salsa; creamy Yarra Valley brie wrapped in jamon and glazed with honey, such a sweet and tangy treat for the palate!

Mother Ann’s braised Ox-tail
For our main course we had Benny’s Certified Angus Rib eye with a side of potatoes, the sumptuous RELIK’s mixed Paella which was a crowd favorite, and Mother Ann’s braised Ox-tail. Now the braised ox-tail had to be my personal favorite for the night; I’ve never tried ox-tail before and this version of the dish made me love it so much!
I love how the meat is so savory and tender that it falls right off the bone!
Vanilla and Amaretto Panacotta
For dessert we had Vanilla and Amaretto Panacotta, a cooked cream with blueberry compote. I hardly had any more space in my tummy for this but it looked too good to pass up on! It surely did not disappoint! It was rich and creamy, and the blueberries balanced it out perfectly.
