The total tally of people who have been infected with the virus is now up to 49. Further details on the 16 new cases have yet to be announced.

However, Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City announced earlier in the day that their city had a newly confirmed COVID-19 case. It can be assumed that this new case is part of the 16 cases confirmed by the DOH.

The city-wide total number of cases for Quezon City is currently at 4.

Details on the previous 33 confirmed cases were only recently announced on March 10.

The DOH seeks to remind the public to remain calm and practice precautionary measures against the virus.
