David Blaine Asia Tour: A Mystical Night in Manila
One of biggest and greatest magicians of our time, David Blaine, came to Manila for a one-night only show that left everyone in awe.
Manila was David Blaine’s last stop for his 2014 Asia Tour and since it was a one-night only show, many people didn’t let the chance pass. Fans from all over the Philippines and around the world came to witness what David had in store for everyone.
David started the show with a bang by chugging three liters of water. This amount of water is hard to take in and he even topped it off with some gas. He then blew the gas out and put fire on his logo onstage.
Of course, when there is fire, you have to stop it. David then blew out the water he previously took in.
Since David is known for close-up magic and street magic, he joined the audience to do some of his best tricks afterwards. Any volunteers?
David picked volunteers all throughout the show. For his card magic, he made a uniquely signed card by the volunteer appear every time she picked out a card from the deck.
The craziest part was when the bended signed card was placed in the middle of the deck of cards and he made it pop up on top, which left his volunteer shocked and confused.
For another volunteer, David made her pick out one piece of a puzzle out of 2000 puzzle pieces in a jar and asked her to put it as the one missing piece of the puzzle he had brought with him and it fit! She also got to keep the puzzle signed by DB himself.
David then headed to the audience to look for a couple of volunteers. He found a couple and the daughter then approached him and told him that it was her parents’ anniversary. For this trick, David used an ice pick and asked the father to place it under one of the styrofoam cups they had prepared.
The mother didn’t know where the icepick was and was tasked to pick a cup for David to slam his hands onto.
Of course, David did not end up slamming his hands into the ice pick. However, because he wanted to please everyone and prove that his hands could take an ice pick, he asked the daughter to put the icepick through the palm of his hands.
Many may say that the ice pick retracts on the handle, but David actually showed the audience that the ice pick went right through his hands. And look at the reaction of the volunteers!
He then asked them to continue pushing the ice pick through until it was visible from the other side.
The ice pick went right through his hands, but there was no bleeding. David did this trick in front of a doctor a few years back and even went through an x-ray to show everyone that it really went through his hands. The doctor then concluded that it was real magic.
