Since David always gets something big ready for his finale, he went backstage and gave the stage to his friends who did magical performances first.
When David came back, everyone went wild because there was a fish tank in the middle of Araneta. He would submerge himself into the tank and hold his breath as long as he can.
David was very calm as he sat in the middle of the tank.
He could steadily sit inside the tank and prevent from floating because of the weights tied onto his waist and look! He’s wearing shoes!
The first few minutes were easy. He was even interacting with the fish and the audience surrounding him.
There was actually a fan who doubted that the tank was filled with real water, so she took on the challenge of joining David inside the tank. Bad for her, she only lasted 5 seconds.
As the minutes went by, it was visible that it got harder and harder for David. He closed his eyes and looked like he was in pain.
In the end, though, he broke his tour record of holding his breath underwater for 10 minutes and 29 seconds!
He then went straight to the stage and thanked everyone for the last stop of his Asia Tour.
Watching David Blaine live was simply mind-blowing. Even though I have watched his performances on TV or online, it was surreal to see it in real life and to try and check if he was cheating somehow.
After the show, everyone was asking how he did the performances and even though I was also confused and mind boggled, I simply told myself that I would rather not ask because it might ruin what I have always believed to be true magic.
