Taking a splash at Philippine Surfing Academy’s Night Surfing Party held at Club Manila East resort last June 13 was a totally awesome experience. This was the first time it’s been made possible to go surfing and clubbing simultaneously in one amazing venue right here in Metro Manila.
As the culminating celebration of the 5th CME Surfing Cup, where the best longboarders of the country duked it out at the Oceanwaves surf pool, #nightsurf2015 took off with the Blue Jean Junkies rocking the stage during the final heats of the competition. When the sun set below and the city skyline and the neon lights turned on, the DJs hit the decks and then the bass and waves started pumping!
This was definitely not your ordinary clubbing experience nor was it your average surf break. Riding waves at night in the illuminated surf pool and having house beats as background gave this particular feeling of stoke an energized and surreal touch.
Besides being free for all to go night surfing during the party and not worrying about getting sunburnt, it was definitely satisfying to know you were only minutes away from home.
The great news is that if you weren’t at the party, you can still go surfing at CME because PSA offers surfing lessons there everyday! The drive to the surf pool is only about 20 minutes from Ortigas Avenue corner C5 (Tiendesitas) and is located just at the foot of Antipolo.
This very unique event just made it truly more fun in the Philippines and, now, people have something super exciting to do when in Manila.
