A new F1 watch party series is quietly taking over a private room in Pop Up Katipunan, and it is not trying to be for everyone.
Lights Out Katipunan is a private, reservation-based watch party series held inside RaceLab Esports Hub, built for a crowd that actually watches the race instead of talking over it. No fighting for a table at a packed sports bar in Makati or BGC, no standing in line—just an exclusive room, unlimited access to a sim racing rig, and twenty to thirty guests who showed up on purpose.
The series is founded and run by Skye Cabrera and Julianne Rabago, two university students from Ateneo de Manila who wanted a proper space in Katipunan for F1 fans to watch together. Lights Out Katipunan is now an official F1 | beIN Sports screening partner, bringing officially licensed race coverage to the room.
Season one covers three races: the Belgian GP on July 19, the Hungarian GP on July 26, and the Dutch GP, which runs as a full race weekend from August 22 to 23. Each race night runs as a four-hour block starting at 9:00 PM.
Guests reserve their seats through the Qualifying Only, Race Only, or Race Weekend Special options, with each reservation loaded with credit to use on-site for food, drinks, and sim racing.
“We wanted something that felt like watching with your closest friends, not a crowd you have to shout over,” said co-founders Skye Cabrera and Julianne Rabago. “Katipunan has this whole pocket of people who grew up watching F1 and never really had a space built for them. This is that space.”
Each race night includes a free bread and pastry basket, and guests are welcome to bring their own drinks with no corkage fee or order from the venue bar. The unlimited sim racing rig stays open throughout the night, letting guests jump in during formation laps, red flags, or whenever the mood strikes.
This is only season one. Cabrera and Rabago have confirmed plans to expand into future seasons as the series builds its footing in Katipunan.
