Coldplay has just concluded one of the best concerts Manila has ever seen! For those who weren’t able to attend, the British rock band performed a special new song based on their experience in the Philippines.

Chris Martin first remarked on the situation before thanking concertgoers for “coming through the traffic” on Day 1 of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour in Manila (January 19, 2024). He also noted, “We’ve seen some traffic, but I think you have the number one in the world.” The vocalist/pianist isn’t wrong though, with a recently published study naming Metro Manila traffic as the worst in the world for a metropolitan area.
Cut to Day 2 of MOTS Manila (January 20, 2024) at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, when Chris Martin wrote a song about Manila traffic and performed it for the Filipino audience! Our team was able to capture it so here’s a video of Coldplay’s Manila Traffic song!
Coldplay’s Manila Traffic song lyrics go:
Yesterday we sang about Manila in the rain,
But we’re not gonna sing that song again.
Oh, we can’t wait to play Manila again,
But the traffic here is completely insane.
If you want to drive somewhere then I’m warning you,
A two-mile drive will take a week or two.
If you want to get back home in time for your bath,
Well, I’d allow yourself about a year and a half.
Oh, we can’t wait to play Manila again,
But the traffic here is completely insane.
