Coldplay fans, time to rejoice. The world-renowned alternative rock band Coldplay is coming back to the Philippines in 2024.
Events promoter Live Nation Philippines posted a video teaser on its social media pages on June 10, showing an aerial shot of Philippine Arena. The arena’s LED billboard played a Music of the Spheres promotional video—Coldplay’s ninth studio album released in 2021 and their 2022-2024 world tour title.
And on June 12, 2023, Live Nation made the big announcement: Coldplay will perform once again for Filipino fans on January 19, 2024 at the Philippine Arena. A Live Nation Philippines tickets pre-sale start on June 19, 2023 at 10 am, while public sale launches on June 20, 2023 via the band’s official website Coldplay.com. Ticket prices have yet to be revealed.
Coldplay is a British rock band known for their heartfelt and anthemic songs. Formed in 1996, the band consists of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion. Their music blends rock, pop, and alternative influences, earning them widespread acclaim and numerous awards. Coldplay’s discography includes hits like “Yellow,” “Fix You,” and “Viva la Vida.”
On March 2022, the band set out for Music of the Spheres, their eighth world tour, kicking off in San José, Costa Rica. The two-year world tour will end in South East Asia, with the last show set to be in Bangkok, Thailand in February 2024.
“Music of the Spheres” is Coldplay’s ninth studio album released in 2021. It explores themes of space, science, and spirituality, creating a celestial sonic experience. The album features collaborations with artists like BTS and We are KING. With tracks like “Higher Power” and “Coloratura,” Coldplay delivers a cosmic and uplifting musical journey.
