Carlos Jose Rivera, better known as the notable CJ the DJ of Magic 89.9, has passed away today, August 20. He was 44 years old.
His fellow Magic 89.9 DJ Riki Flores made the announcement on her Instagram, sharing plenty of captured moments ever since becoming colleagues and good friends.
“My brother my mentor my boss my friend. This 20-slide allowance on Instagram just ain’t gonna cut it, Ceej. I’m so thankful for our well-documented time together,” she began, “From the time you welcomed me into the radio fold to the time you saved The Week Sauce, you’ve been nothing but the bestest guy. When you married Bea it was also sort of the best day of our lives because finally, you got what you deserved: true and genuine happiness, the exact same thing you give to everyone you come across.”

CJ had been battling cancer. Recently, friends, family, and coworkers helped organize a fundraising event to raise awareness and funds for cancer treatment.
