Longtime customers of Chocolate Lover in Cubao, known for its castle-like building along P. Tuazon, will soon be saying goodbye to a familiar stop for baking supplies. The store’s owner, Annie Carmona-Lim, announced in a Facebook video that the shop will officially close on December 27, 2025, after 36 years in business.

In her message, Carmona-Lim shared that the closure comes after careful consideration. She explained that her children do not wish to take over the business and that she hopes to spend more time with her grandchildren, which has been challenging due to travel.
Despite the upcoming closure, she assured customers that Chocolate Lover will continue selling supplies until the last day of operations. She emphasized that the team remains committed to serving customers throughout the holiday season.
Carmona-Lim also thanked suppliers, former students, and long-time shoppers for supporting the store over the years.
Chocolate Lover first opened in 1989, built with a starting capital of ₱6,000 after Carmona-Lim recovered from cancer. Over the decades, it became a familiar destination in Metro Manila for accessible baking ingredients and tools.
The store’s castle-like property in Cubao is currently for sale, and Carmona-Lim encouraged interested parties to stay updated via their official Facebook page for announcements on potential purchase or rental opportunities.
Carmona-Lim ended her video by expressing how difficult the decision has been, saying she has been emotional about it for several years.
