Check Out Toni Gonzaga’s P2 Million Engagement Ring
It looks like Valentine’s came early for Toni Gonzaga, who showed off her engagement from her long-time boyfriend, director Paul Soriano. The ring is a custom-made 1.5 carat diamond solitaire ring from Israel (a country Toni has wanted to visit), and reportedly costs P2 million.
The proposal turned out to be one years in the making. Toni said that Paul has proposed each year since 2009, but she said no every time because she felt she wasn’t ready. This year, when he proposed on her birthday, she said yes.
News of the engagement first broke out when Sandy Andolong, Toni’s co-star in Home Sweetie Home described her as a fiance in an Instagram post.
On The Buzz, Paul shared how he proposed:
I just told her family, basically… I said, ‘I’m not gonna take her away from you guys. I’m actually here to join you guys if that’s possible.’ This was one of those moments wherein you just have to cry. And I did. I got down on my knee and asked her if she’d marry me. She said yes. Halfway to the question nag-yes na siya. [Halfway to the question she already said yes.]
According to Toni:
I remember there were times when you would ask me, ‘For the past seven years, I was never a priority to your life. It has always been God, your family, your work and me. And I’ve accepted that.’ Kaya I always pray to God. Sabi ko, ‘Lord, kung darating na yung time na mapagod na si Paul kasi hindi na niya kaya maghintay, kayo na ang bahala.’ [That’s why I always pray to God. I told him ‘Lord, if there will come a time when Paul can’t wait for me, I will leave everything to you.”] But he really stayed and proved to me that true love waits. And he really waited for me.
The two have been together for seven years. They plan to get married this year.
