She was among the latest celebrities to put up their high-valued items for auction through the Shop and Share 2020 initiative where she gave up her official Miss Universe 2018 Candidate Pin which she wore on her sash during the entire pageant.

“Of very high sentimental value, Catriona wants to share its significance to another, to benefit her countrymen just as she dedicates her title of Miss Universe,” the Shop and Share website said. A personal handwritten note will also accompany the pin for whoever gets to win the auction.

The bid is scheduled to close on June 11, 9 AM Manila time. As of writing, the current bid is at PHP 250K.

Proceeds of the auction will go to the purchase of COVID-19 test kits for those who have no access to them.

The Shop and Share project was first launched in 2009 by Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis to provide aid to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.

“These are hard times, truly frightening times for the Filipino people, especially with coronavirus cases still on the rise,” Angel wrote on her post announcing the project relaunch. “We would like to revisit the idea of artists coming together and helping those who need it the most. This time, with the funds we raise, we would like to purchase test kits and allow testing opportunities for the poorer sectors in the hopes of helping out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the country.”
