Here’s What We Learned About BTS’s V’s Skin Condition, Cholinergic Urticaria

BTS’s V has revealed to ARMYs that he is suffering a skin condition called Cholinergic Urticaria, and our first thought was… Choli-what??

It was on WeVerse, BTS’s new global fan community, where V replied to a fan who said he was “tickling” himself that he was doing it because of his skin condition that made him feel “itchy.”

Cholinergic Urticaria is a type of hives that pops up on a person’s body as small, itchy red bumps when subjected to conditions that make the person’s body temperature rise — exercising, taking a hot shower, or, in V’s case, performing onstage under bright lights.

In extreme cases, this skin disease can cause abdominal pain, nausea, and difficulty in breathing.

According to WebMD, the itching or stinging sensation can last for only 30 minutes, but the red bumps will linger on for up to four hours. They often appear anywhere on the upper torso, which fans believe is the reason why V wears long and loose articles of clothing.

Treating Cholinergic Urticaria involves making lifestyle changes to avoid such conditions. But with V constantly performing, topical medication is most likely his go-to remedy.
