If you’re looking for a place to unwind, read a book, have coffee, and eat good and affordable food, Book and Borders Cafe is the right place for you.
I dropped by in time for Halloween. ๐
Situated along Tomas Morato, Book and Borders Cafe is a coffee shop that offers a selection of books, from fiction to non-fiction, that you can read for free while you’re enjoying a cup of coffee or a hot meal.
As you enter Book and Borders, you’ll see books on the shelves–fiction on the right and non-fiction on the left shelves.
The 5 easy steps of book borrowing:
Pick a book.
Approach Book and Borders baristas/servers.
Give them the title of the book you have selected.
Give them your ID in exchange for a number tag.
Your ID will be given back upon the return of the book.
Book and Borders Cafe:ย Food and Drinks
Salted Hot Chocolate (P125) – This drink is simple divine–creamy, thick, and chocolate-y like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Definitely a must-try.
Iced Mocha (P150-12oz, P170-16oz) – Instead of ice, this cold drink comes with a milk ball that blends with your drink as it melts.
Quatro Cheese Pasta (P220) – This pasta dish is a bowl of comfort. ‘Nuff said.
Tamarind Lemongrass Chicken (P280; choice of rice or mashed potato) – This meal was a new experience for my palate. It’s flavorful, butย not salty.
Eggiest Pie (P70) – Oh. My. G. This egg pie is the best egg pie I’ve had in my entire life! I’m trying not to exaggerate, but I literally cannot think of a better tasting egg pie. Have I told you that I love this egg pie?? I do. You should try it.
Established only in June this year, Book and Borders Cafe already has a fan base of students, coffee-lovers, and celebrities. They’re planning to open 2 more branches, one in Tuscany, McKinley Hill.
Aside from the books and comfy chairs, Book and Borders also installed a projector for use during events. They can seat up to 70 people. Contact 0917-571-5886 to inquire.
So, whenย around Tomas Morato, read, sip, and dine at Book and Borders Cafe.
