BLACKPINK Rosé Sets These Guinness World Records Titles

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK member Rosé has just set more Guinness World Records (GWR) titles with her recent solo release. Rose debuted as the main vocalist of the four-piece group in 2016 and released her first solo EP in March called “R” with two lead singles: “On the Ground” and “Gone”.

According to the GWR website, Rosé’s debut main track “On the Ground” was certified as the most-watched YouTube music video in its first 24 hours of release by a solo K-pop artist with 41.6 million views. It now has 142 million views as of writing, a month after its launch. Previously, this record title was held by Psy’s 2012 viral hit “Gangnam Style” with 36 million views.

The Korean-New Zealand singer is also reportedly certified as the first artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart both as a soloist and as part of a group. She hit No. 1 on the Global Billboard 200 with “On the Ground” on March 27 and the Global Excl. U.S. chart with BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” last year.
