Bistro Ravioli: Italian Cuisine Obsession Unleashed!

Cakes and the Best Gelato to Close

Just when we thought the chicken filled up what was left of our appetite, we were offered up absolutely mouth-watering desserts. I don’t know about my friends, but I found myself suddenly hungry again.

Sinful. That’s the word that came into mind once I scooped out a spoon of heavy, creamy milk chocolate from the middle of this moist cake. Once this photo was taken, I raised the spoon into my mouth and exhaled heavily. CHOCOLATE. Unadulterated chocolate. Even if I have tried this before, it just never fails to be a familiar good thing. I’m sure these words are not stemming out from being female, either, because the men who were dining with us were chasing this cup around the table for a delightful reason.

If you search about Italian coffee on Google, you’ll find out that there is no Starbucks there. They are praised for the espresso culture of which Bistro Ravioli’s Tiramisu identifies with. In a 4×4 cup, we quickly shared half of the coffee-tainted and -tinted cake. The mixture of sweet and bitter unravels in every teaspoon. This is quite light on the appetite.

I do believe in saving the best for last. Their Salted Caramel Gelato is the best gelato I’ve ever tasted, and the Choco Hazelnut wasn’t bad, either! The taste of the Salted Caramel is very literal “salt and caramel”. The Choco Hazelnut reminds me a lot of Ferrero Rocher, though the gelato is a little creamier and thicker.

Each dish can be shared by two to three persons, with each not going for more than Php 300, except for Pizza. For brick oven pizza that can be shared by at most four people, the price is more than reasonable at around Php 450.

This one Saturday was a lot like the past Sundays in Bistro Ravioli, except it became a whirlwind of all of the things we love about the Italian cuisine. An Italian saying we usually see in busy kitchens goes, “Quello che piace alla bocca, fa bene allo stomaco!”. This means, What pleases the palate pleases the stomach!
