If you haven’t already added Coron to your bucket list of islands to visit in the Philippines, there are so many reasons why you should. Known for its stunning limestone landscapes, crystal clear waters, and diving spots, Coron is one of the most breathtaking places anyone could ever travel to and witness pure, natural beauty. While there’s an endless list of things to see and do on the island, the first question on every traveler’s mind is always: “Where do I stay?”
Here’s one hotel to consider: Sunlight Hotel Coron.

Conveniently located in Coron Town, Sunlight Hotel Coron offers a comfortable stay for travelers intending to explore the bustling town proper and the surrounding islands. Inside, rooms feature the essential comforts—complimentary WiFi, toiletries, air conditioning, smart television, mini-bar, fridge, and a bidet. The real highlight, though, is how spacious the rooms are and, for an added upgrade, you can score one with a private veranda looking out into the sea, perfect for catching the fresh air!
Beyond the rooms, Sunlight Hotel Coron also has an on-site gym, a gift shop, and a restaurant that’s open for breakfast buffet and all-day à la carte meals. (Note: as of writing, the swimming pool is under renovation, so don’t forget to check the status before your trip!)

Perhaps the best asset of this hotel, however, is really how easy it is to explore everything that Coron Island has to offer. Just a quick walk down the street will take you right among the town’s best food establishments, coffee shops, and souvenir stores. For a delicious dinner, head on over to Gran Italia Ristorante and Pizzeria, a notably beloved food spot by tourists and locals made famous for its incredible brick-oven-fired pizzas and homemade pastas. Once you’ve had your fill, just a four-minute walk away is Elevated Bar, where you can keep the night going for as long as you’d like with their menu of specially crafted cocktails like the Banana Sour and Tres Leches Flight. (Tip: if you’re not an alcohol drinker, let the bartenders know; they can whip up a mocktail just for you on the spot!)

After discovering the charms of Coron Town, it’s time to head out into the water—and thankfully, going on an island-hopping excursion is practically a breeze thanks to Sunlight Hotel Coron’s private port. The hotel offers a number of island-hopping tours for solo travelers, pairs, and groups, which already include a licensed tour guide, all entrance fees, a licensed boat with life vests, lunch, water, cottage fees, towels, and snorkelling gear. Go for the Coron Island Highlights Tour to hit Kayangan Lake, Barracuda Lake, Twin Lagoon, Banul Beach, and Twin Peaks Coral Garden where you can swim and snorkel all day long. If you’re into exploring the shipwrecks, go for the Reefs & Wrecks Tour instead, which will take you to Lusong Gunboat, Lusong Coral Garden, and Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort (SETIR).

Whether you want to spend vacation days sipping coffee with locals or enjoying the peaceful nature while floating in clear waters, Coron provides an unforgettable island escape, and Sunlight Hotel Coron makes this whole experience in this paradise much more convenient and hassle-free. Honestly, I’m already counting down the days ’til my return to its shores.
