Bistro Ravioli: Italian Cuisine Obsession Unleashed!

Ravioli True To Its Name

Bistro Ravioli started as a food stall selling only Ravioli, so it should be no surprise that their Ravioli is one of the best I’ve tried in Manila. Ravioli basically refers to square pasta stuffed with ingredients and bathed in herbs and tomato sauce.

Imagine squares of pasta packed with a light sweet and sour taste of Italian sausage made in-house, drenched in thick, lightly salty with a hint of garlic sauce and sliced tomatoes. Yummmmmm.

After this dining experience, this is still a running favorite. The smell of herbs and Pomodoro sauce filling the air as the dish was laid on the table. Driving my teeth into the pasta, the spinach dampened the creaminess of the cheese just right. The Pomodoro (Tomato Pesto) fills the need for something sour and smooth. It’s one of those dishes that you’ll find yourself randomly thinking about when hunger crawls into the brain.

While Bistro Ravioli has a wide selection of pasta, it seems like their seafood is something to boast about, as well. Served with plates of clam, squid and shrimp settled on a heap of spaghetti, sauce, herbs and flavoring like garlic and olives; the aroma got us a little overwhelmed and intimidated. It got us excited, too!

The spaghetti pasta acted as a canvas to this dish heavy in seafood from aroma to after-taste. Bathed in olive oil and adorned in the light bitter taste of olives and capers, the sharp flavor of garlic blends in with the juices from seafood and some saltiness of the bacon bits.

Tomato-based sauce is a familiar theme in Italian cuisine. Adding the seafood and the mildly sweet, salty and sour sauce, though; this dish brings a rollercoaster of flavors to the palate.

Served at 3 pieces in a basket, their chicken completes the plate. For the space left in our stomachs, the chicken made for a delicious filler with the sauce made in the same kitchen that their meats are prepared in.
