There is nothing better than getting high with great food that appeases not only your hunger, but also your cravings for something satisfying. True to its name, Sweet Ecstasy is definitely a place where you’d feel like you are going out of this world, what with their to-die-for menu of milkshakes, wings, and burgers.

Located in Cubao X, Sweet Ecstasy started out as a small stall of cookies and milk. Neither of the owners knew that they’d boom and expand the way that they did. Now, they have an upcoming branch in Jupiter, Makati, plus a two-story place at their original site. Owned by Al Galang, Monica Tobias, and Diego Castillo, the place has been through a lot of changes through the years. With their menu being altered from time to time to stay relative and unique, I could definitely say that they have achieved their goal — man, this place is definitely addictive!

Sweet X Cheese burger (P170.00)

 

One of Sweet Ecstasy’s pride and glory is their sumptuous burger. With a quarter pound of pure beef, flavored with only salt and pepper, drizzled with their handmade sauce and mixed with fresh veggies, these omnomnom cheese burgers are something that will surely take your worries away. Works just like real ecstasy, really! Beware, though, because these burgers are extremely addictive.

In fact, before becoming a co-owner for Sweet Ecstasy, Diego Castillo used to be a fan of these burgers. He’d head to the place every now and then just to purchase one of these babies and eat while chilling out. Eventually, Diego was asked by Monica and Al to become one of their partners as they started to make their restaurant bigger — and thus, it became the birth of a wonderful partnership and, most importantly, a bigger and larger Sweet Ecstasy.

Hot Damn! It’s Wings (Php 320/dozen)

 

Being a fan of buffalo wings, you could definitely guess which item from their menu brought me to my feet — their wings selection. Theirs is particularly interesting because they offer stuffed wings, which are either filled with a dynomite (chili pepper + cheese) or ground beef, and then smothered with delicious sauce that goes perfectly well with their special dips to boot.

Beer frost: San Mig Light topping + Red Horse Base

 

What’s a better pairing than buffalo wings and beer, right? Well, Sweet Ecstasy does not just offer beer; they also offer beer frost — it’s your usual cervesa topped with beer slush. It has the texture of your ordinary slurpee, but it tastes much more wonderful. It’s actually a genius idea, not only because it will make you tipsy, but also because it will keep your drink from getting diluted with melted ice. In other words, it gives you the opportunity to enjoy your drink at your own pace.

Do-See-Do Milkshake (Php 140.00)

 

If you feel like you want to veer away from alcohol, though, don’t worry. Sweet Ecstasy also has a wonderful selection of milkshakes on offer. From the classic vanilla to the more intricate salted caramel with brownie milkshake, these wonderful creations will make you feel refreshed and keep you full at the end of the day. In case you want a little spunk, they also offer milkshakes mixed with shots of vodka or tequila. Don’t worry, though, because the taste of the alcohol actually gets masked by the concoction, so you won’t even realize that the vodka is present until you find yourself crawling at the end of the night. *winkwink*

Kamote Fries with Sriracha Honey (Php 100.00)

 

Another favorite of mine is their Kamote Fries, simply because it’s delicious, non-greasy, and perfectly cooked. Unlike the others, theirs actually stand out because they’re not saggy; they’re crispy. Plus, the sriracha honey complements the sweet and salty flavor of the fries. If only I could eat these everyday…
