High School Musical and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody star, Ashley Tisdale, just opened up to friends and fans on Instagram about her experience getting breast implants and her eventual decision to have them removed as she talked about “growth, self-discovery, self-acceptance, and most importantly self-love.”

The 35-year-old Hollywood actress posted a photo of her in a bikini and lounging at a beach as she began talking about her story.
“Hey guys, this is probably the most personal post I’ve ever shared,” she started. “As you know, I’ve been very open about my mental health journey and feel that this is equally important. Years ago I underwent breast enhancement surgery. Prior to the surgery, I constantly felt my body was less than, and thought this change would make me feel more whole and more secure about myself. And for a short period of time…it did.”
She said that she increasingly struggled with “minor health issues” like food sensitivities and gut problems that she was convinced were caused by her implants. It was then that she decided to undergo an implant removal last Winter.
“This journey has been one of growth, self-discovery, self-acceptance, and most importantly self-love,” she continued, explaining that the photo she posted along with her story was taken two months after her explant surgery. “I think you can tell just how happy I am to finally be fully me.”
She then promoted her new wellness website, Frenshe. “We take an honest approach to our well-being and openly speak to health, beauty, and everything in between,” she said. “I can’t say I’m the proudest of the choices I made in the past but I don’t regret it because it got me here today.”
