Anne Curtis Describes Her Return to GMA as “Coming Home”

In case you didn’t know, Anne Curtis appeared on a number of television shows and movies during her time with GMA Network. On TV, she was among the cast of GMA’s popular teen-oriented series “T.G.I.S.,” and was also on the network’s iconic comedy shows “Nuts Entertainment” and “Bubble Gang”. On the big screen, one of the GMA films she starred in was “Akala Mo” in 2002. So following the contract signing of her current show “It’s Showtime” with GMA Network’s Good Television (GTV), she was naturally asked about her return.

“[It’s] nostalgic, in a way, to see familiar faces again,” Curtis expressed in an interview with GMA Integrated News. “I’m just very, very excited and happy.” In fact, she pointed out that she is still in contact with the GMA bosses through VIVA Films. “Because I’m with Viva, I’m still able to do projects with GMA naman. So it’s kind of like coming home,” she added.

Some of her projects in collaboration with GMA are “Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story” in 2018, where she played the titular role with Dingdong Dantes, and “Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?” in 2016, where she starred alongside Paolo Ballesteros, Dennis Trillo, Yam Concepcion, and Donnalyn Bartolome, to name a few.

Furthermore, Anne Curtis hopes to see Kapuso and Kapamilya stars on the same stage in the future. And of course, her dream Kapuso artist to have on her noontime show is none other than her sister, Jasmine.

The actress is grateful to both GMA and ABS-CBN, as mentioned in her recent social media post. “A day I never thought would happen. Got goosebumps when Atty. Gozon said ‘the TV war is finally over’. Thank you again, GMA, for giving ‘It’s Showtime’ another home on GTV! And to our bosses of ABS-CBN, maraming salamat because you keep the hope in us alive by finding ways for us to continue our journey in making the madlang people happy,” she wrote.

“We are so excited for July 1!!! Madlang Kapuso! See you guys there at 11:30 am!”

To add to the nostalgia, the “Dyosa” actress also reminisced on her film debut in “Magic Kingdom” (1997) under VIVA Films, in time for her 25th year in the entertainment industry last April. “Magic Kingdom and my role as Princess Dahlia will always have a special place in my heart. As a 12-year-old, this was definitely a core memory. Forever grateful to directors Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes, and of course, VIVA Films,” she wrote on Instagram.
