Is it me or is today’s youth fixated on trivial things far too much? I’m not going to pretend like I’m an expert at Philippine history nor am I going to pretend like I didn’t have my share of crazy Tabing Ilog or Meteor Garden moments, but something like the ALDub (did I capitalize that right?) vs Pastillas craze? That never happened in my generation (I sound like such a Lola).
A few days ago, a friend of mine posted this on social media because she received over 50 mentions and 20 RTs all because she didn’t capitalize the L in her #ALDubEBforLOVE hashtag:
Okay… First of all, hashtags are not case-sensitive. And second of all, if these kids would channel all of that energy into advocating something more useful and beneficial to their fellowmen, I’m sure we’d live in a much better country right now.
Maybe it has something to do with social media being so rampant nowadays and maybe it’s not even this generation’s fault, but I really think importance should be placed on things that aren’t so ALDub and Pastillas-related. I’ll let these photos do the rest of the talking.
What do you think about this?
