After initially denying that he is in a relationship with ex-“Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Franki Russell, Diego Loyzaga finally admitted in an interview that they are indeed dating—they’re just not at that stage where they can say they’re each other’s boyfriend and girlfriend yet.
The actor told this to radio host Rico Robles during the “All Out” show on Monster Radio RX 93.1, clarifying that, at the time he denied the rumors, there really was nothing romantic going on between them.

“We have known each other [at the time] for 10 days, we are not a thing. Who am I to say that? I can’t give a label that we are something right now or kami na. Ang kapal naman ng mukha ko na sabihin ko na kami na. I haven’t even asked her. We’ve just been seeing each other [then],” he explained.
He then stressed that it’s no longer the case now.
“But noon ‘yon. Iba ngayon,” he said. “I am a hypocrite. I said I wanted to focus on myself but I guess these things, you don’t expect it. It just really just comes along. Ever since meeting up with her and hanging out with her, it hasn’t stopped. We really did click. So, I would definitely say that right now we’re dating.”
He couldn’t say, however, if they were exclusively dating, saying that he’s yet to ask Franki if they were “on the same page” about not seeing other people. He does look forward to asking Franki to be his girlfriend eventually.
“Hindi pa kami [but we’re getting there],” he stressed.
Rumors that the two were a couple first arose when Franki greeted Diego on his birthday by posting photos of them together. The Instagram pictures were quickly deleted, but netizens were able to save and repost them.
Diego’s last relationship was with Barbie Imperial, who confirmed their split in February. They clarified that they ended things on good terms.
