For the first time ever, the three giant broadcast networks, ABS-CBN, GMA-7, and TV-5, will unite to air the much-awaited Pacquiao vs. Mayweather mega fight that will finally happen on May 2nd, according to Yahoo! News.
The announcement was made in a joint press conference held by the three networks at Solaire Resort and Casino Thursday March 26, along with Solar Sports, who holds the broadcast rights to the bout.
The fight will reportedly be aired on free television through the three networks on a slightly delayed basis, while Solar Sports will broadcast the match on cable.
Solar Entertainment chief Wilson Tieng credited Pacquiao for wanting to “unify” the three networks for this historic bout, according to the report. The Solar Entertainment chief is also positive that the crime rate in the country will be zero during the fight, as everyone will be tuned in even through free television to watch the fight.
Pacquiao also thanked the three networks and Solar Entertainment for the collaboration in a video call during the press conference, which he said was for the Filipino people.
According to the report, SM Cinemas will also air the fight in over 100 theaters nationwide. Ticket prices range from P600 to P1000.
