Horror fans, it looks like we’ll be seeing more found-footage scares soon. A new Paranormal Activity movie is currently being developed, as confirmed by an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Paramount is teaming up with Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and several other production companies to bring the franchise back for another round of eerie, night-vision terror.
One of the biggest updates: James Wan, the filmmaker behind The Conjuring and Insidious, is joining the project as a producer. This follows the recent merger of his company, Atomic Monster, with Blumhouse.
Wan shared his excitement in a statement, saying he’s admired Paranormal Activity ever since the first film, praising its “creeping slow burn” and the way it made “the unseen terrifying.” He also mentioned that he’s looking forward to helping shape the next evolution of the franchise.
The producing lineup includes familiar names. Franchise producer Jason Blum returns, joined by original Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli. Also on board are Steven Schneider, Michael Clear, and Judson Scott, with Alayna Glasthal overseeing the project.
As of now, plot details and direction for the new movie haven’t been revealed.
Since debuting in 2007 with a micro-budget film that became a global hit, Paranormal Activity has grown into one of the most recognizable found-footage franchises—often mentioned alongside The Blair Witch Project as a standout in the genre.
Across seven films, the series has followed households tormented by unseen entities, culminating in the most recent installment, Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, in 2021.
