OMG. OMG. OMG. Yes please.
In a recent interview of Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, with Hollywood news site Deadline.com, the producer apparently hinted that a standalone Black Widow film could happen. According to Feige, Black Widow is an amazing character which earns her her own franchise. After all, we have seen Black Widow much more times in the Avenger films than any of the other Marvel superheroes, and the heroine’s dark, mysterious past has always been taken a dabble at although never truly, fully unraveled. So could a standalone Black Widow film finally answer all our burning questions about this bad-ass lady spy? We sure hope so.

Here is the exchange between Feige and the website that reveals Marvel’s plan, as reported by Deadline.com:
Deadline.com: Youโve got a bunch of characters in this movie from Falcon and War Machine and Black Widow and Hawkeye, who have so far guest starred in movies with another characters title above the fold. Is there one destined to get a solo movie down the line?
Kevin Feige: Weโve announced the next nine movies, 10ย counting Civil War, through the end of 2019. Where we go beyond that are ongoing discussions that weโll focus on in the next few years because we have a lot to do before then. Of the characters that youโve just mentioned I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow.
Deadline.com: Why?
Kevin Feige: We think sheโs an amazing character. We think Scarlett Johanssonโs portrayal of her is amazing. Sheโs a lead Avenger and has amazing stories in her own right to tell that we think would be fun to turn into a stand-alone franchise.
Well that’s one thing we can all agree on isn’t it? Scar Jo is AMAZING. Yasssss. Make this happen, Marvel!
