The trailer for “28 Years Later” is finally here, offering a glimpse into the return of a post-apocalyptic world devastated by the Rage virus.
It also shows Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes fiercely battling the infected. “Day became weeks. Weeks became years,” the trailer teases, hinting at the continuation of the terror from “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later.”

Cillian Murphy’s participation in “28 Years Later” remains unclear. However, it was previously confirmed that he would be part of the upcoming sequel as an executive producer. Additionally, Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman revealed that he will make an appearance in the film “in a surprising way.”
With that, some viewers are speculating that the award-winning actor might return as a zombie, citing his resemblance to the zombie shown in the trailer.
The third installment marks the return of Danny Boyle as director and Alex Garland as writer of this highly anticipated film.

Released in 2002, “28 Days Later” tells the story of Jim, portrayed by Murphy, a bike courier who wakes up from a coma to discover that a virus known as Rage has decimated the UK.
Its 2007 sequel, “28 Weeks Later,” directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, is set six months after the outbreak and focuses on efforts to repopulate London, only for the virus to resurface.
“28 Years Later” will follow the aftermath of “28 Weeks Later.” Its premiere is slated for June 20, 2025.
