Can you briefly describe your art or art style?:  I would describe my art style as funky and experimental. When I first made it, I tried to steer away from the normal color palette while at the same time making it eye catchy. Something that’s you wouldn’t scroll past by. And thus the green-haired, yellow-eyed weirdos were born. I do still wish I added more colors to it because now I’m having trouble giving them more personalities and differentiation. I’ve always been a fan of distinguishable art styles that you can easily tell apart from other artists. I’m not sure I consider myself one of those, but at least people can easily tell if a comics is Hunghang Flashbacks.

What inspires/informs your art?: At first it was all just for the fun of it. But after seeing all the readers and fans engage in my content, I got more and more pumped to do more. It’s a little bit cliche but honestly it’s all because of the readers. And with everyday that something new and relatable happening, I’m almost never out of ideas to share. Another thing that inspires me is this accidental world building I’m already in too deep. I’m unconsciously invested in my own characters even I’m excited how things will turn out to be.

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: I’m hoping that people that sees my art would consider doing something different. What I try to stay away from are topics that are already trending. Sure they can bring me a lot of traction but that’s the thing, my heart’s not really into it when I’m making these types of content. Young creators who see my comics tend to ask about the formula of getting a lot of followers, and honestly, I don’t even know. I keep telling them to forget about the numbers and just do what they want, the rest will follow.

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?: I take inspiration from fond memories, so if I were to describe my art style in three words, it would probably be nostalgic, vibrant and free.

What inspires/informs your art?: As a writer,  I find it frustrating when I can’t find the right words to describe how I feel especially when I want to remember it, so I try to let it out of my system by drawing. As cheesy as it sounds, when I draw, I look back at the small moments that have a significant impact on me. Whether it’s a meal I shared with my loved ones over fun conversations or that time the sunlight hit the water so nicely while I was at the beach with my friends, I try to immortalize them through my illustrations. I get to relive feelings that are difficult to put into words through my illustrations.

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: It’s simple, really. When I share my illustrations, I just want people to feel happy. When I get to share my personal memories or draw people’s cherished moments, I try to capture what makes these little moments so special so that when they look at them, hopefully, they’d smile as they get to relive heartwarming feelings.

I hope I can one day make a bigger impact through my art, but right now it’s nice to think that my drawings have the potential of making people happy, too.

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?: A big part of my illustrations rely on color; I love trying out different palettes in my art, especially bright and pastel colors. I’ve also been told that my art style is a cross between anime and Disney style.

What inspires/informs your art?: The art I make is largely inspired by the media I consume: movies, TV shows, anime, and most especially video games. What I love most is drawing characters from pieces of media I enjoy, as well as my own. On the other hand, my original art mostly revolves around exploring various aspects of my self-identity.

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?:Mainly, I want audiences to feel happy seeing my drawings, whether it be because I drew their favorite characters, or because they resonate with the personal experiences I depict in my original art.

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?:  I enjoy incorporating linework and shapes into my drawings and sketches! I’m also a big fan of using light in conveying mood and tone in my more illustrative work.

What inspires/informs your art?: Mostly from different cartoons, anime and comic styles! I have favorite artists too whose body of work just fires me up!

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: More stuff related to filipino culture, especially food (more especially street food!).  I wish to have my drawings come off as playful and fun!

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?: I work as an illustrator, graphic artist and comic book creator. A lot of my work revolves around trying to tell a story as clearly as I can, without words if I can help it. Heavily influenced by cartooning, animation, pen and ink work and comic book art, I try and keep my work in the ligne claire school.

What inspires/informs your art?: A lot of comic books and cartoons I like from growing up. My favorite artists all happen to be comic book artists or web comic artists, the web comic boom definitely allowed me to see a lot more variety in genres and art styles, as well as storytelling, opened my eyes to the possibility of how to tell stories through images, along with their contemporaries in illustration. Would cite influences as Adrian Tomine, Kate Beaton, Daniel Clowes, KC Green, Tomer and Asaf Hanuka, Nedroid, Adventure Time, Moebius, and Jason, this European comics artist

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: Depends on the piece. Recurring themes in my pieces revolve around trying to communicate how I feel as best I could through abstract imagery or symbolism. Really love the local music scene so I try my best to try and get involved with how I can trying to promote artists I like and the scene.
