Can you briefly describe your art or art style?: My art style most definitely has to look surreal. It looks vibrant and colorful, like a tie-dye shirt. My art is Influenced by low brow art, cartoon art, surreal art, graffiti art, and pop art.

What inspires/informs your art?: What inspires my art are usually things I’m interested in such as Japanese culture, all sorts of animals. and mainly pop culture. And sometimes if I have feelings I need to express or things that take up so much space in my head I like bringing them into the real world through art.

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: More often than not I want to to give e a splash of color and surreality into peoples lives because sometimes people are so caught up in what’s realistic and practical and what’s in front of them that they forget to look at things in a fantastic, or imaginative, or even a bizarre way. I also mainly like illustrating things that interest me because it’s also nice to discover how other people are interested in the same things too.

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?: Since I have a liking for both minimalist and ornate details, my art alternates between these two extremes. Color is something I always look forward to when illustrating, which is why my art is rarely devoid of all these vivid pops of color. I can’t help myself! I love to experiment and see where it takes me.

What inspires/informs your art?: Everything from architecture, food, music, fashion and other artists stimulates my creativity. I’m particularly fond of Scientific Illustrations, Asian mythology and 90s video games.

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: I also draw a lot of inspiration from every day situations by immortalizing them into little comics. I find that a lot of my personal art tends to be based on my or other people’s emotions, and making something from that is in a way cathartic.

I hope anyone who comes across my art can resonate with it in some way. A little part of me dwells in every piece I make, and knowing my work can evoke a positive feeling keeps me going.

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?: Make the faces pretty and expressive; add flowers and ornaments everywhere.

What inspires/informs your art?: I mostly do fan art from pop culture, especially anime and video games. And usually I try to convey them by taking inspiration from art nouveau-style works, ornamental designs, and floral patterns.

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: I am well-aware of how some people shame fan art and anime because they don’t consider them as ‘real’ art. But heck if that’s what motivates you to create more and also improve as an artist, then you’re doing great, sweetie!

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?:  I’m a traditional painter at heart and my pieces are usually done in watercolor. I took a gander in some digital art when I first bought a drawing tablet just to try it out. I guess I haven’t fully found my style yet, but I’ve tried to emulate a “painterly” effect in some of my works. I’m colorblind (deuteranomaly) so it has really limited my use of color, hence my works being mostly monochrome. I’ve learned how to work around it, and digital art has helped me step out of my comfort zone.

What inspires/informs your art?: I’m inspired by pop culture, and if you’d notice, my works are often fan art from movies or shows that I loved at the moment. I do have a few original pieces here, but I mix my love for pop culture and art through my works. Aside from being an artist, I love dissecting films through writing, and you can also browse some of my articles on my website: https://popdojo.net

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: One of my personal advocacies is to promote love for our culture and history. I once did a series of digital drawings mashing up Heneral Luna characters with quotes from Hamilton: An American Musical. Through my work, I hope to impart curiosity and appreciation for our past. By looking back at our history and learning from it, we can make more informed stances on current issues to avoid making the same mistakes as a country.

Can you briefly describe your art or art style?:  My art is very simple. I only want it to tell stories, capture emotions and feelings, speak for those without a voice (for both people and the trees)— and so the art is formed on exactly that. I paint or draw to what the story needs.

What inspires or informs your art?: My work revolves around 3 things: art, nature, and people. So my art dances between both nature and people— the stories both entities hold, and how I can bring them together. It makes it easier to do every day when I get messages from strangers telling me how much my art has helped them with their lives or issues, or let them rethink their stances and mindsets, or inspired them to do art themselves! What an Instagram page can do, noh? It still wilds me out.

What (if anything) do you hope to impart through your art?: I only hope that the art I put out let’s the people who see it think again— to challenge their norms and mindsets. I had recently met someone who did this for me, and I was inspired completely. If my art could impart that spark and ignite action— whether it be for nature or to better themselves from within—to those who see it, I’d be the happiest.
