The Department of Health announced this Thursday, April 30, that a total of 1,619 healthcare workers across the Philippines have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The Health Department broke down the total tally of healthcare workers infected with COVID-19. Of the 1,619 cases, there are 604 nurses, 99 nursing assistants, 63 medical technologists, 31 radiologic technologists, 18 midwives, 17 respiratory therapists, and 13 pharmacists.
The remaining 217 patients consist of other medical personnel such as administrative staff and barangay health workers.
33 have succumbed to the disease, 24 of them being doctors while 7 were nurses. 250 healthcare workers have recovered.
